SHIALLA SHI(Author's note: Shi Shi's role went through so many changes. I don't feel like discussing them here, although she DID give me a chance to practice drawing kissing. Also, Shi is evil. So, very evil. XD) Shialla Shi is a young Myranian woman, slightly older than Blue, who has decided that he belongs to her. She has a wealthy mother and is used to getting what she wants. (It is possible that parental favoritism had something to do with her sister Mariana's falling out with the rest of the family.) Shi Shi tends to be rather sexist, often forgetting that while men tend to be rather dim around her, it's because she's zapping their brains out half the time. She was taught that if you can't do a memtwist, you probably deserve to have it done to you. Shi Shi prefers most people call her by her affectionate title, so it's rather telling that her sister addresses and refers to her formally. First appearance (flashback): Page 86, Fall to Earth

KIMURI MISHIKARISeveral decades in the past, Kimuri Mishikari began to appear in the slums of Caligula, promising a better life to any 2nd Kind who would work with him. No one knows exactly where he first came from, or even if "Kimuri Mishikari" is his real name. (Well, it is now. X3) Despite numerous trials and troubles, and threats on the lives of many people involved, he eventually led a large group of 2nd Kind up into the Sa mountain range, to an ancient ruin of a city he claims to have found around the time of his own spiritual awakening. According to his own autobiography, Kimuri "could have been any other young, broken man wandering through those peaks, trying to find himself. The city of Shangri was both a Godsend and my calling." Together with the people he led there, Kimuri refashioned the old city to fit the needs of a broken people, to lift them up above what they had been made into, and to provide a beacon to the children in the future who would need a place that accepted them in a world that hated them. As he did so, he also explored his spiritual self, eventually organizing the spiritual experiences of himself and his followers into a religion called "Nijai," which means "focus." It is a young religion, and still somewhat open to molding. Though Kimuri has no biological children and is apparently celibate, Sabre Gem is his adopted daughter, (her different surname may point to the falsity of his own name?) and he sees Blue Fayse as a son. (Legally, he could be considered as such, since Sabre and Blue are legal siblings.) Also, he considers all the children who have studied under him at the Nijai Temple of Shangri to be "his" kids in some way or another. Kimuri makes a lot of money, much of which he puts into the funds of the city, by writing books about his spiritual experiences. Before Silver's ascension to the Caligulan throne they had a modest market on his homeworld, both of well-off 2nd Kind and curious 1st Kind, and are rather popular offworld. First appearance (in a vision): Page 37, Far Side of Nowhere

MARIANA SHI(Author's note: Why do Shialla and Mariana get to have their last names listed? Weird.) Mariana is Daimon's bodygaurd, although she is much less likely to randomly memtwist men she doesn't like talking back, and far more likely to kick them upside the head. (She used to have a scene in which she did this. There was a reason I took it out-- it was a choice between that and Sylvana throttling Silver. XD) Mari did not leave her family on good terms, and is generally much less of a friendly person, prefering that people refer to her formally and becoming annoyed when people call her "Mari Shi." (Pronounced as all one word.) She doesn't seem to like other Myranians in general, either. The main reason involves an emotional awakening on her own part several years before leaving Myrania to join the Dark Forces, in which Mariana realized that memtwisting was an unnecessarily cruel punishment for most male offenses, and that men, given the chance, are just as capable of complexity and intelligence as women. (THIS may have involved another of her family members, who may yet appear. Wink wink, nudge nudge. )

IRENA
Daimon and Sylvana's mother, Irena is a woman with a dark and bloody past. She has killed multiple mates (It is possible that a flighty, bubbly girl like Miko is the only sort of thing that she really has patience for anymore) usually because they threatened or inflicted harm on herself or her children. It is possible she killed one or both of her parents. Irena apparently spent a fair amount of time prowling Earth in her youth, since that IS where she picked up Daimon's father, although other consequences of this have yet to be revealed.
(Don't worry, she only has two kids. THIS I PROMISE. XD)
Irena owns the Myranian youth Miko, who is basically a pet and sex toy. Despite what she uses the girl for, she often behaves in a protective, maternal manner towards her.

MIKO
An expensive Myranian slave Irena bought to cope with the stress of having to kill Kayn, Miko has what most Myranians would consider rudimentary training in use of her telepathic abilities, although she is very skilled at telepathic therapy. This is what she was initially trained for, and Miko is usually treated as a valuable pet. This means she often will expect attention when she comes after it, so long as the person she is asking for attention for is in an appropriate, non-working area.
Miko functions as Irena's stress relief, so it's a good thing for her sake that she has non-violent ways of easing it. It's actually unlikely that she started out as a sex toy, and that the sex was just an evolution of her original duties. (It's also fortunate for everyone else that Miko is good at relieving Irena's stress, because she keeps her slightly saner than she used to be.)

EBONY
Ebony Black, also known as the Black Witch of Ridpath, is the governor and "gatekeeper" of the world of Ridpath, an important stop in between Draconian and Avernian space, on the Avernian side. Ships are actually forced to stop there, due to a network set up in the area that yanks ships out of faster than light travel.
Ebony is a sadist and gets very bored on Ridpath. She is a dangerous woman and best avoided.
Bizarrely, she is the sister of Blue and Lette's boss, Myrddin Black. How two such different people came from the same family is a mystery.
